Board of Zoning Appeals is seeking a member. The board meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm. Interested persons are subject to completion of a statement of Disclosure of Real Estate Holdings and may not miss more than three (3) meetings during a 12-month period of service. Recreation Advisory Commission:
The Town of Abingdon is seeking a member for the Recreation Advisory Commission.
The Commission serves as a liaison between the Community, the Council and the
Department of Parks and Recreation and makes recommendations on matters relating
to recreational needs. Interested persons should fill out an application found here and
return the application to Kim Kingsley, kkingsley@abingdon-va.gov.

Economic Development Authority:
The Economic Development Authority is accepting applications for a vacancy on the Authority.
It is preferred that the applicant be a resident of the Town. Appointee is subject to completion of
a Statement of Economic Interest form and take an oath of office prescribed by Code of Virginia,
1950, as amended, Section 49-1.
Interested person should complete the Board and Commission application found here,
and return the application by December 30, 2024 to Kim Kingsley, kkingsley@abingdon-va.gov.

Sustain Abingdon Committee:
The Sustain Abingdon Committee is seeking members to fill vacancies. The Sustain Abingdon
Committee desires to reinforce innovative planning and actions at the local level to help decrease
energy costs, improve the environment and increase energy choices for municipalities, residents
and businesses.
