Clark Street will be closed on Monday, August 24, 2026, near the intersection of Whites Mill Road, to allow crews to replace failing culverts underneath the roadway.
Crews hope to complete the work Monday, but the closure could extend into Tuesday, if needed.
Detour: Clark Street traffic should use Court Street NE for access during the temporary closure. Access to all residences will be maintained throughout the closure.

Work will include:
• Upgrading the existing 4-inch water line to a 6-inch water line between Hickman Street and Court Street SE, improving water flow to the fire hydrant at Court Street SE.
• Replacing an aging water line between Court Street SE and Kings Mountain Drive due to its deteriorating condition.
Access to homes will be maintained throughout construction. However, through traffic is encouraged to use alternate routes. Please use caution when traveling in the area and follow any posted signage or flaggers.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as these important infrastructure improvements are completed.
