Sealed bids for BRIDGE DECK REPAIRS & OVERLAY – CUMMINGS STREET STRUCTURE #1803 for the Town of Abingdon, Virginia will be received by Matthew Bolick, Director of Public Services and Construction until 2:30 PM local time, Friday, August 25, 2017, at the Municipal Building, 133 West Main Street, Abingdon, Virginia 24210 at which time they will be opened and publicly read aloud. Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be examined or obtained at the above location. Sealed proposals shall state on the outside of the envelope the company’s name and address and “BID PROPOSAL – BRIDGE DECK REPAIRS & OVERLAY”, addressed to the attention of Matthew Bolick, Director of Public Services and Construction, P. O. Box 789, Abingdon, Virginia 24212. Bidders must be licensed as a Contractor in the Commonwealth of Virginia AND be prequalified with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to perform this type of work. All work shall conform to VDOT Road and Bridge Standards and Specifications. The bidder’s attention is directed to the requirements of Title 2.2, Chapter 43, of the Code of Virginia and Article V, Div. 1, §2-176 – §2-256 of the Code of Ordinances of the Town of Abingdon. The procedure for withdrawal of bids shall conform to Code of Virginia, Section 2.2 – 4330. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bidding, and to accept the proposal which, in its opinion, will be in the best interest of the Town.

Board of Zoning Appeals is seeking a member to fill an expired term. The board meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Arthur Campbell Room at the Town Municipal Building, 133 West Main Street. Interested persons may be subject to completion of a statement of Disclosure of Real Estate Holdings and may not miss more than three (3) meetings during a 12-month period of service.
